Sylvain Guintoli wears Shark helmets in WSB and now you can too. Guintoli wears the Shark Race R Pro for the 2017 season and here's your chance to own this helmet with the former WSB champion's design. The Shark Race R Pro is Shark's top of the range race helmet. It's super light at just 1250g and excels in its quietness, comfort, ventilation, stability and the quality of its optical visor. Making the helmet so light is its shell, made from a blend of carbon and kevlar. Not only is the Race R Pro ECE 22/05 approved for use in the UK and Europe, it has been awarded 5 stars in the government's SHARP safety rating, so it has all of the credentials to keep you protected whilst out on the road or the track. To aid stability at high speed, the helmet has a double blade spoiler and after all, this is a race helmet which Sylvain rides with at speeds of up to 200mph.
The Shark Race R Pro is a very quiet helmet. The aerodynamics make a large contribution to that, but Shark have a newly developed 'neck roll', which provides an excellent barrier to wind noise entering around the opening of the helmet. This has resulted in a 4 decibel reduction in noise levels at 60mph. The inner lining is new and made from a bamboo fibre for extra comfort and the quick release visor has an anti-scratch treatment.
The helmet is secured with a double D-ring and the visor is class 1 optically correct. That means that it provides you with clear vision throughout the entire visor, being 4.25mm thick at the centre, but tapers off to 3mm along the sides, for clear peripheral vision. It can also accommodate the Sharktooth bluetooth communication unit, so that you can keep in touch with your riding buddies or pillion. Scroll down to see the graphics from every angle.
