Motorcycle Helmets & Clothing 2017
As a motorcyclist and motorcycle helmet & clothing retailer, this year has been one of the most exciting for many a year. We've seen the adventure motorcycle market continue to grow, as more riders look for practicality and comfort instead of the out and out speed of a sportsbike. This has brought with it, a proliferation of jackets, trousers and gloves from the likes of Macna, Furygan and Richa, designed to keep you warm and dry. We sell a lot of bike gear to riders who are taking on trips to further and further afield. With that comes the need for kit which is weatherproof, breathable and protective as you experience changeable conditions whilst out on the bike. There's now a true choice when it comes to waterproofing, from Goretex, Drytex and Raintex, all offering something a little different from a technical point of view, but all perform when it matters, in the rain.
We're seeing an increasing number of motorcycle jackets which can be used all year round, thanks to their adaptability. Removable thermal inner liners have become a feature of the Furygan and Macna jackets range, which are great for when you want to buy just the one jacket for cooler and warmer months. We're seeing similar innovation in motorcycle boots. Forma now have a cooling boot, with a water reservoir, which you can fill to keep your feet cool when on tour in hot countries. Macna have a dry cooling vest, which uses the same method as the cooling boot, where you can refill the vest to keep your body cool when on tour. Speaking of which, when you're touring, you might find the new Shark Evo One helmet extremely handy. It's the new flip front from Shark, where the chin bar rotates fully, from the front of the helmet, to rest on the rear, giving you the full open face riding experience. It's CE homologated as both a full face and an open face helmet.
One of the most exciting motorcycle sectors this year is the custom and cafe racer scene. Events such as the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride has provided an organised scene for riders of these beautiful machines. The new Triumph Bonneville and Thruxton sees them join the likes of the Ducati Scrambler and BMW RnineT in addressing this customisable bike market. With this has come some stunning motorcycle helmets and clothing. We're very excited about the new Nexx XG100 Carbon, a stunning addition to the and X-Garage range. These are absolutely beautiful helmets, hand crafted by exceptionally talented craftsmen and women in Portugal, some of the best looking helmets we've seen. Nexx have released some very special designs for the XG100 and XG10, through a collaboration with Maria Riding Company of Portugal. Maria are builders of gorgeous custom bikes and their creative design has now been extended to helmets, through this partnership with Nexx.
Also brand new from Nexx is the SX.100, the first Nexx full face available for under £150 and packed with features! Also worth highlighting are three new additions from AGV. The AGV Fluid is a really well priced open faced helmet with a unique way of opening and closing the sun visor. Then there's the open face version of the K5, called the K5 Jet and finally, some cool new graphics in the AGV K5 range, namely the Enlace and Hero. Take a look around the ForMotorbikes website, to see the new kit. You can either browse by brand name, using the menu at the top of the page, or via the search box, top right, or use the 'choose your ride' links below, to select your kind of bike. We're adding new motorcycle helmets and clothing all the time, as we find gear which meets our exacting standards.
